Midge Ure's extraordinary career spans 30 years. An Ivor Novello, a Grammy and an army of gold and platinum discs all bear testament to his music. Band Aid, Live Aid and Live 8 have spoken to generations. Midge holds a couple of honorary degrees and was awarded an OBE in 2005.

His musical journey encompasses Silk, Rich Kids, Thin Lizzy, Ultravox, Visage, Midge Ure, and a variety of other projects over the years such as Record Producer, Musical Director for several prominent events (including the Nelson Mandela concert, The Prince's Trust shows and Red Hot and Blue). Midge has also had success as a Video Director, writer of film and tv music including the seminal Max Headroom, and extensive touring in every decade. Ultravox, with its electro pop, sweeping synthesisers and epic qualities was particularly influential, and the band had seven consecutive top 10 albums in just six years.

Midge has written some classic hits - from Fade To Grey, If I Was and Dancing With Tears In My Eyes to the truly timeless Vienna and of course Do They Know It's Christmas.

Co-founder of Band Aid, Midge remains a Band Aid Trustee and actively involved in their humanitarian efforts and in the cause to reduce Third World debt.

He is a regular contributor and presenter of music programming on tv and radio, and continues to play live around the world.
