BANZAI REPUBLIC
Banzai Republic are the three talented dubbists.
Since 1995 the members of Banzai have produced music, but it wasn’t until
they hooked up with Kenneth Bager, that things changed dramatically. Kenneth
was establishing Music for Dreams when he met the Banzai boys. They played him
some ideas, discussing music late into the night. Returning two days later with
the captivating classic In My Home. Kenneth was captured by the sound
of the track, and how beautiful they sampled Mahalia Jackson and signed them
on the spot.
Together the released
their debut single In My Home spawning a whole new label concept as
this became the first single on now legendary Music for Dreams label.
Becoming a chill out classic during 2001 this instantly changed the daily life
of Banzai Republic. Suddenly everybody was requesting remixes, producer sessions
and collaborations. From legendary Sergio Mendez to Portuguese maestros Madredeus,
Weekendplayers and even Cirque Du Soiloi and Santos became some of the wonderful
and inspirational artists they have remixed. Recently the debut album Where
the fun starts early in the day was made with musicians from Blue Foundation
to world jazz star Palle Mikkelborg and Natasha Atlas. Several tracks from the
album are included on cutting edge compilations including the famous Buddha
Bar and Chill out in Ibiza series. DJ´s Chris Coco, Rob Da Bank, Larry
Heard, Lenny Ibizzare, Phil Mison, Pathaan are firm fans of the Banzai sound.
From BBC in the UK to ABC in Australia, the blessed beats of the Banzai has
travelled through the airwaves.
