No strangers to the top of the charts for their productions, or for writing & producing tracks on number one albums (Il Divo, Westlife, Shayne Ward), this hit for Bajan artists CoverDrive however marks Quiz & Larossi's first number one single as songwriters.

Previous Top 5 singles written & produced by Q&L include Up for The Saturdays, Candy for Aggro Santos and Mama for Il Divo.

Paul O'Duffy's original recording of Wake Up Alone, which he wrote with Amy in 2006, features on her posthumous number #1 album Lioness: Hidden Treasures released by Island on December 5th. A proportion of the album's proceeds will be donated to the Amy Winehouse Foundation.

And first up is A Deeper Dub EP & A Deeper Dub Mixes released in November.

The EP's title track is 440's red, gold & green rinse on the Clivilles & Cole house classic, A Deeper Love.

Then come another couple of tasters for the forthcoming album, with an edit of Smoke & Mirrors and ambient mix, specially for the EP, of Fuzzy Logic which samples the late American illuminatus, Robert Anton Wilson.

Finally, a live version of crowd favourite Altamont Super-Highway Revisited - this one recorded last year at hip Spirit of Burgas Festival where they were second on the bill to Prodigy.

The Mixes come from Cut Up Boys, KGee and Noko & with a 440 Instrumental.

Quiz & Larossi have been busy writing with the young soul singing goddaughter of Amy Winehouse, Dionne Bromfield. They co-wrote the song Little Love which features on the singers sophomore album Good For The Soul.

Quiz & Larossi have been working hard in the studio writing with RedOne's first signing to 2101 Records, Mohombi.

New addition to the XL Talent roster Paul O'Duffy has recently been writing and producing Amy Winehouse's prodigy, Dionne Bromfield. Paul produced her first two singles Yeah Right and Foolin as well as co-writing and producing Remember Our Love and If That's The Way You Wanna Play which all feature on her sophomore album Good For The Soul.

XL Talent welcomes veteran Producer / Writer Paul O'Duffy to it's roster. Paul has worked with an array of aritsts over his long career such as Amy Whinehouse, Swingout Sister, Dusty Springfield, Hipsways, John Barry as well as many others.

Quiz & Larossi produced and co-wrote the debut single Candy for Brazilian - London based rapper Aggo Santos. Candy entered the UK singles chart at #5.

Quiz & Larossi have produced X- Factor winner Joe Mcelderry's debut single The Climb. The much anticipated single by the young performer reached the #1 in charts.

Q&L hit the #1 spot again with The X Factor Finalists' You Are Not Alone, in aid of Great Ormond St. Andreas & Josef also produced last year's charity single Hero, as well as Alexandra Burke's Hallelujah - the 2 biggest sellling singles of 2008.

Congrats to Jonas & Cutfather - the JLS album debuts at #1 and features their production of their co-written song, Heal This Heartbreak. Mich & Jonas also produced Umbrella, the B side to #1 single Beat Again.

Congratulations to Mich 'Cutfather' Hansen who collects another BMI Award for Airplay - for One Step At A Time. The Jordin Sparks hit was written and produced by Cutfather with Jonas Jeberg. Cutfather is also responsible for co-writing and producing Sparks' latest hit, SOS (Let The Music Play).

Currently out in LA, Jorgen wraps his co-written co-production of Until It Beats No More (with Radio & Evan Bogart) for Jennifer Lopez. Jorgen's recent productions include Stargazer for Paloma Faith's Do You Want The Truth album and Lose Control for The Saturdays' Wordshaker album, both of which he also co-wrote.

Congrats to Andreas & Josef. Alexandra Burke's Overcome album, featuring the Q&L produced Hallelujah - 2008's biggest selling single - debuts at #1.

Q&L enjoy a global hit with their written & produced Pussycat Dolls' Hush Hush, and follow up their incredibly successful co-written & produced hit single Up from the Chasing Lights album with two songs/productions on the second Saturdays album WordShaker, namely 2AM and Not Good Enough.

The album from one of the breakthrough pop acts of the year features 3 tracks from Cutfather & Jonas Jeberg. Gravity, Turn It Up & My Love are all Jonas Jeberg & Cutfather produced co-writes.

Two Per Magnusson & David Kreuger co-written productions, Open Up and One Shot, both feature on The Saturdays' sophomore album, Wordshaker, on Geffen.

Celebrations for Quiz & Larossi who produce the 2 biggest selling singles of the year with Alexandra Burke's Hallelujah and Hero by the X Factor Finalists.
They also claim the Xmas #1 spot with the fastest selling single by a female artist in UK chart history - Alexandra outselling the rest of the top 20 combined in the first week with sales of 576,000.
Hero has now clocked up sales in excess of 750,000, making it the biggest selling charity record of the decade.
This rounds off an excellent writing & production year for Quiz Larossi, which included Il Divo, Pussycat Dolls, Rhydian and The Saturdays.

MIDI MAFIA UPDATE

Grammy nominated writer / production duo MIDI Mafia have had a busy few months; they have just finished working with John Legend and Brandy on a track for John's forthcoming album. As well working with Brandy on a track for her own record.

They have worked with David Archuleta (American Idol) on a track for his debut album due in November.

Their co-written / produced track Help Me for Bryn Christopher is due to be released as single early next year.

The guys are currently wrapping up Shire's new album which will be released on SRC/Universal next year, they will then start working again with Fantasia on material for their next release.

The Cutfather and Joe written and produced song If This Is Love for The Saturdays has entered the charts at number 8 - this week's highest new entry.

CUTFATHER & JONAS JEBERG WORKING WITH LEMAR

British Soul sensation Lemar has recruited our very own Cutfather & Jonas Jeberg to help him work on his forthcoming album. The album is due out before the end of the year and is the follow up his 2006 album The Truth About Love which reached number 3 in the UK charts.

Cutfather & Jonas Jeberg have been very busy lately hitting the studio with recent Intercope signing Jordyn Taylor and working on Pixie's debut. Pixie has also been working with Kookie on songs for the album which will be released in the UK via Mercury.

Quiz & Larossi and Cutfather & Jonas Jeberg have both been working with Polydor's hot new girl band, The Saturdays. Big things are expected from the girls, and Cutfather & Joe’s Yazoo-sampling If This Is Love is mooted as their first single. Quiz & Larossi’s co-write with Ina Wroldsen, Up!, is the likely second single release from the girls in 2008.

QUIZ & LAROSSI AND CUTFATHER & JONAS WRITE WITH HEROES STAR HAYDEN PANETTIERE

Cutfather and Jonas Jeberg are currently writing with Hayden Panettiere star of NBC's US mega hit TV show Heroes. Hayden has already writen with XL's Quiz & Larossi late last year, her debut release is due out on Hollywood Records. She is a rising young star in the states having also appeared in Ally McBeal and Malcolm in the Middle.

XL Talent’s newest charges MIDI Mafia recently worked with Polydor Record’s new soul act Bryn Christopher. Bryn’s got an amazing voice and cites Sam Cooke and Otis Reading as his influences. These recordings with the Mafia really make it obvious how special he is – watch out for the record later in the year. MIDI Mafia have also been working with Brandy on new material in the States for Knockout Entertainment / Epic. Other producers involved in the project include The Neptunes and Rodney Jerkins.

Marking a sensational week for XL's clients, Per Magnusson & David Kreuger and Jorgen Elofsson take the top three album positions - Per & David have a song on Leona Lewis' album, and produced one track for Westlife and 4 tracks for Katherine Jenkins, whilst Jorgen has a total of 4 songs on the three albums.
